Project Overview
This piece is a visual thought experiment, what does it mean to adapt when the world evolves faster than ever? I reimagined Michelangelo’s David, not in marble stillness, but mid transition plugged into pop culture and sipping from the modern world.
With Beats on his ears, purple tinted glasses, and a Starbucks cup in hand, David becomes a symbol of evolutionary adaptation. He’s not just a relic of the Renaissance anymore; he’s in the queue for coffee, vibing to Spotify, and figuring out how to stay relevant in a digitized, hyper connected era.
The backdrop plays with repetition and bold typography to emphasize movement and progression. It’s cheeky, ironic, but also layered with commentary on how evolution today isn’t about survival of the fittest, but of the most adaptable.
Created in 2023, EVOLVE is where classical sculpture meets Gen Z culture and doesn’t flinch.
